Day 2 of RAD (stands for Rape Agression Defense) is now over and I'm still left standing (no black eye!!). No more waking up early on a saturday morning to spend 6 hours cooped up in a lower vic room. Despite those not-so good things, RAD was the most fun I've had in a while. They really didn't lie when they told us that we'd come out of it feeling incredibly empowered. As I mentioned before, this week was the week we did simulation. There were four simulations in total:
1) The Walk By
2) The "G...." effect
3) ATM
4) (forgot what it's called... but it involved the agressors whispering offensive things to you to piss you off enough to want to pummel them)
An agressor...this is who I was up against!! GO GO POWER RANGERS!! =P
(pictures of me beating the crap out of this guy - available soon!)
I did all three of them (simulations that is!! Sick sick jacko!) and had a blast!! Mostly I was just amazed at how effect a single strike could be. I was able to knock down a guy twice my size with just a single closed-fist strike to the face!! Pretty cool cuz if you know me, I don't really seem like such a tough person but now I feel like I am. Funniest thing was that as soon as you knock the agressor, the control monitor is supposed to blow the whistle to signal that it's over, but after the guy who was attacking me was down, I didn't hear anything. So then I was all ready in my defensive stance to deliver another blow when I look down and this guy is just flailing around, waving his hands to tell me no more. At that moment I just bursted out laughing and everyone watching was just ahhh you just beated up the guy and then now you're laughing in his face! Well serves him right for trying to "rape" me!! OMG...I've asked for a copy of the video showing that so maybe I'll be able to put it up later on! =) I'm actually quite proud of how I did today. We all looked super cool out there!
Anyway, dinner at Little Saigon AGAIN!! hahahaha just can't get enough of their delicious beef pho and spring rolls which jackie still calls spring "rows". During dinner we had a very interesting conversion about Chinese names. Viv was trying to teach us how to pronounce her name in Cantonese but Jackie couldn't do it without sounding like a complete CBC. I told them my name too and how my uncle's chinese name is just like Leon Lai's but with a "big" in so it becomes "lai dai ming"... Anyway, BIG mistake... They think it's funny now to start calling me "lai siu ming" ("siu" meaning small). AHHHH I don't want to be a guy!!!! =( Oh...all the stupid conversations we have...I'll miss them in the summer.
