[Hong Kong Wrap-Up]

Darn...I miss Hong Kong... =( Toronto life has just become too slow moving for a girl too accustomed to the bustle of Hong Kong. The experiences I've gone though in these last 2 and a half months put together have turned this summer into the best one yet. From endless shopping fun to getting yelled at by cocky CEOs and Mandarin classes to travelling around different parts of Asia, every moment was filled with opportunities to experience something new. And to think that at first I was so unsure about going. Now if I was given the chance, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. =)

My wonderful experience in Hong Kong was due in most part to all the amazing people I got a chance to spend time with: relatives (lots and lots of 'em!), old friends and new ones made along the way. Most thanks goes to my Gu Ma and my "Ma Ma" (grandma) for letting me stay at their place, feeding me and so much more.

Thanks to Gu Ma especially for making so many of my "Hong Kong wishes" come true. =) For taking me to see all these new places and opening up my eyes to new things. I'm truly blessed to have a family that's so loving and generous. To all the others: thanks for looking out for me and making my stay in Hong Kong all that more enjoyable. =)

Also being missed is the awesome food, my other love. =P It saddens me that I won't be able to satisfy those cravings for fried squid balls, Hui Lau Shan's mango coconut milk with sago drink, streetside curry fish balls, McDonald's mango dipped ice cream cones and Honeymoon's mango pancakes. mmm mangoes...how FOB am I?? =P Until we meet again...which hopefully won't be another 5 year wait!!

  • Hello. So this is how you comment...

Pearl's blog is one of the best I have seen. It is informative and very effectively reflects the activities and experiences that she has had in her recent life. It was very interesting to read about her trip to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.!

    Best regards,

  • Reading through your HK experiences makes me want to visit!! It's been how long.. 13-14 years since I last went there? I was just a little kid back then.. if I went now, I'd definitely get a chance to explore and stuff... without having to hang around my mom all the time.. heh

I mean, I could enjoy all the food, the shopping, and maybe even the nightlife! hehe.. Toronto's always felt slow moving for me.. maybe I'll fit right into the busy HK life.. won't know until I visit sometime! =)

  • Omg Pearl! I haven't been to your blog for such a long time... I even forgot that I've set up my own blog... maybe I should update it sometime... anyway, lucky you! Sure sounds like you had fun. When are we ever gonna be able to meet up in HK??? It's always when I go you don't go and when you go I don't go... ah!
