[Boxing Day and MOAG Blues]

So boxing day shopping was a success ie. fruitful while being completely stress-free all thanks to my new mind set going in. This time around I decided that I'll go in with no expectations so that I won't be upset if I don't end up finding anything and just walk around at a leisurely pace instead of getting all worked up. It worked out marvelously and just like that I ended with a few good deals without even trying. =)

WANTED: a new companion to go watch Memoirs of a Geisha with...
By a sudden turn of events, I'm now left without anyone to watch this movie with which I've been dying to see since the previews came out at the beginning of the month. I'm quite disappointed but I guess some things happen for a reason...I'm just not sure I really see it just yet. Maybe to promote family harmony...yeah.. So anybody out there who has yet to see it, let me know!! I know you're out there... *ahem* Jacko.. YM girlies... =P

Could I be ANY piggier?? All day today (my first full day back in the T dot) I've been going from place to place around town eating all the wonderful food I've missed out on while in Kingston. For some time now, I've been craving those delectable Singapore style fried "lo bak go" at Congee Star and finally I got to have them today for lunch. MMM MMMM...looking forward to biting into those delectable little deep fried goodness is what kept me going through the exam crunch! Phong was trying to be adventurous and ordered the Hainanese chicken hot pot rice but it turned out not to be quite what it was supposed to be. We were expecting the same smooth, oil soaked chicken like in Singapore but got some sort of curry dish instead. Very disappointing...but you can always count on the "lo bak go" to be good. Next we headed off to Pacific Mall for ice cream waffles and quality bubble tea (not like the crap they sell in Kingston) then tonight Abe treated our whole family out for KB where I ate even more than the boys. o.0

At this rate, it looks like I might need to go up a size for boxing day shopping. AHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =P

[I must really be going crazy...]

I had a dream last night about dealing drugs and not just any old kind. It was those red tylenol ez tabs and chewable orange flavoured vitamin C tablets. LOL!! =D A friend had a whole bottle of the vitamin C tabs and was saying how yummy and how much like oranges they tasted which made me want some. So I traded her some of my Tylenol.

My mind must be totally fried or it could just have been all those Tylenols I took for my headache last night... Either way, back to reality. I have a friggin Biochem exam in 3 hours!!!!

[3 down and 2 more to go...]

booooooo.... I don't wanna study nomore!! It's depressing that while most people I know are either done exams or finishing up by the end of this week I'll still be holed up in Douglas passing out over my books. I just want this to end already but sadly, I'll still be in Kingston a week from now. =(

Just wrote my Environmental Biotech exam yesterday and royally screwed it up because of a bad case of writer's block. Blah... It's one of the few courses of the term that I don't hate and I still manage to mess it up. I understood the material fine but for one reason or another I just could not string together my thoughts into sentences that sounded right. Granted writing has never been my strong point which is a big reason why I'm in engineering to avoid it as much as possible. Just thinking back to high school English class gives me the chills. I guess my thoughts are always just tangled up in a big mess...

Went to work today and received my first Christmas present of the year. =) I totally was not expecting anything since I don't recall getting anything last year. It's not much but it's the thought that counts. So sometime next week, when I'm about to lose my mind from studying while everyone else is done, I'll spoil myself silly at Timmy's with my gift cert. =D

Christmas music does wonders for picking up my mood. =)

As embarassing as it is for me to admit it... I do so love my occasional dose of chick flicks!! AHAHAHAHA!!! Sure the story lines are completely overdone with the same old predictable guy meets girl and they end up living happily ever after but sometimes that is just exactly what you need. Chick flicks just seem to have a way bringing a smile to my face no matter how sappy they are and I love it. =) Just finished watching Monster-in-Law starring Jennifer Lopez, Jane Fonda and that oh so dishy Michael Vartan hence the topic of this post. =P AWWW...their characters were so cute together!! *sighs dreamily* Seriously...they should not have killed off Vaughn's character in Alias. Now the show's getting cancelled due to a drop in ratings...what were they thinking??? =(

I've been meaning to update my blog for some time now but it's the time of year when term projects and essays are piled up on top of exams. So far, it's 2 down and 3 more to go. Thank goodness it's the 2 hardest ones out of the way although I don't think I did particularly well on the first one (cross my fingers I passed!) and the second's a little iffy.. I feel good about the second one but then again it's Kunal's class. Everything's a trick when it comes to him! *hmph* My next exam isn't until Tuesday and in the meantime I've been getting some much needed sleep and relaxing...perhaps a little too much. Better start studying for Env Biotech to avoid a repeat of the midterm disaster. *cringe*

oh ya...and SQUIRRELS!! Those little buggers have been popping up in the weirdest places around me. Let me recount the unusual run-ins I've had with them in the past two weeks... When I was walking to work two weeks ago I saw one defy gravity by climbing up a vertical wall of a 5 story building. Then, only a day or two after, as I was walking out of the gym, one was scampering along the railing of the wheelchair ramp a FEET away from me which I didn't realize until I heard this heinous squeal coming from it. I was so traumatized!!! Not too long ago, on my way to school, I noticed something bushy behind a lamp post and when I got close enough to see what it was...it was a dead squirrel, eyes all glazed over and stiff looking like it froze to death. eww...only Kingston squirrels can be so freaky...it's like they're on steroids!! No joke!!
